ROSEGARDEN 16.06, codename "Rhapsody in Blue" RELEASED

The Rosegarden team is proud to announce the release of version 16.06 of Rosegarden, an audio and MIDI sequencer and musical notation editor for Linux.

Ted Felix did the lion's share of the work for this release. In addition to fixing several bugs, Rosegarden implements a new track archive feature, along with new solo button functionality.

This new feature changes the behavior of the solo button on the free-floating transport window, as well as the solo buttons on the transport toolbars available in the notation and matrix editors. Clicking on the solo button in any of those windows will toggle solo on the selected track. In the editors, the track that is being edited becomes the selected track.

This functionality is slightly different from before. Previously, once solo was turned on, changing the selected track would cause solo to switch to the selected track. Now, the selected track and the solo track are decoupled.

• Avoid changing stem direction in the middle of a beaming group in on-screen rendering or LilyPond export
• Lilypond export: respect beams for grace notes too. They were incorrectly understood as a chord, because they are all at the same absolute time
• Fix undesired channel cleaning at start of second segment (#1516)
• AudioPluginManager: Fix broken plugins
• Keep plugins dialog from growing unnecessarily
• Fix selecting legato type would skip to notation on relaunch on quantize parameters
• Fix add articulations wouldn't restore on relaunch in grid mode only on quantize parameters
• Fix channel setup conflicts when daisy chaining

• Lock files so only one Rosegarden instance can edit a particular file at any one time
• New Layer From Selection function to make it easier to resolve overlapping polyphonic voices by hand (this function does not undo cleanly)
